Kano Shrine

This shrine is dedicated to the guardian deity of Higashiuraga. Prior to travelling to the United States, Katsu Kaishu was also known for his fasting practice to pray for a safe voyage and to overcome emotional burdens. Uraga Harbor is divided into east and west sides. It is said that if you are get a magatama bead from the Nishikano Shrine and put it in an amulet bag from the Higashi Kano Shrine, you will be binded to your love, work, and friends.
