Morinaga Shoten Limited Company
This community-based konnyaku (konjac) manufacturing store was established in 1944. They are responsible for the production and sales of konnyaku, shirataki, and tokoroten. Among them, the Kanagawa brand “Kanagawa Nori” and the “Sarushima Wakame” bred in the waters surrounding Sarushima, an uninhabited island in Tokyo Bay, are used to make konnyaku. This idea was then considered a regional contribution, and in 2017 they were awarded the “Kanagawa Industry Navi Awards First Prize”.
