Due to Perry’s landing, Kurihama became the site of the stage of the beginning of modern Japan.
A ceremony commemorating it, a bazaar opened by local residents, a parade by local schools and organizations where a huge blackboard float appears, etc. Approximately 100,000 people visit fireworks festival every year!
