Gokurakuji

This temple was founded by Ninsho, a second generation regent to the shogunate, the third son of Hojo Yoshitoki, and Shigetoki founded the Ritsu mantra. It was erected in 1259. In its heyday, the large temple had 49 towers in addition to the complete seven-structured temple compound, but half of it was destroyed due to wars, fires, and earthquakes. Currently, the Kichijyoin is the last remaining building of the main temple. Kamakura 33rd Kannon No. 22, Kamakura 24th Jizou No. 20 and 21.
